Rush Job

Very busy at the moment, hence no blogging.
Yes, the G20 has a lot to answer for.

I'm obviously going to be home even less over the coming week, with my own shifts plus all my rest days cancelled and extended tours of duty. I have even been warned for two consecutive shifts on one day...

Can't and won't talk about G20 in detail until afterwards - suffice to say that we're all quite worried about it.
As my usually jovial Sergeant said today whilst talking about it: "It's going to go to shit, isn't it? I mean, we're buggered really, aren't we?"

Worrying.

For the first time in my memory, the Met have requested mutual aid from North Yorkshire!!! That was almost as serious as seeing the admin unit and desk jockeys in dusty uniforms turning up.

Don't get separated - and any force used is based on your perception of the need at the moment- can't get fairer than that ;)

Look after yourself. I'll be one of the people you're very kindly working to protect!

They tend not to invite us anymore, during a certain incident on a hill in Scotland where a number of protesters who chose to throw bricks at us were locked up. This was during the last G8 summit a few years ago we were then kept in the background. Apparently custody had fits when 16 were locked up for violent disorder/riot.
They have asked for a minimal number of officers but loads of our EGT's and TACADS.

Oh well at least we won't be former forces accomodation earning O/T whilst breaking down on the motorway this time.

Stay safe all of you.

Hey minx - some inside information for you, from those of us at the Met who are in the know:

MCM doesn't stomp. He gets stomped upon. Usually by a seven-strong bunch of teenage girls at a bus-stop.

He has also failed his OSPRE exams three times on the trot and is highly resentful of his superiors because of it.

The "man" is an absolute joke.

ditto, see you at there, if even half of the stuff we've been hearing about happens it's going to be interesting to say the least.

Yep from me as well. Stay safe. An old saying 'dont let the bastards grind you down'. You just know that a 'peaceful' demonstrator is dying to catch an officer on duty using 'unjust violence' on a 'peaceful' protest. You just know it will be edited so that when it gets on You Tube, it will only show the bits that show the boys and girls in a bad light.
I hope you will all be getting lots of overtime!
